WELCOME Eagle Nests New Librarian Alec Baron!
Alec Baron is a seasoned leader with a proven record of working alongside federal, state, and local government professionals to address everyday challenges. Over the course of a decade serving California’s 71st Assembly District, Alec built expertise in public administration, data research, and constituent engagement, with a particular focus on community and social services. Known for his integrity and dedication, he worked tirelessly to ensure government services were effective and responsive.
Raised in Orange County, California, Alec first demonstrated his leadership as an active member of Future Farmers of America at Westminster High School, serving as both Chapter President and Orange Section Parliamentarian. After relocating to Ramona in 2011, he continued his civic involvement as ASB President at Montecito High School and as Student Trustee on the Ramona Unified School District Board of Education. Graduating as Valedictorian in 2012, he launched his legislative career that same year.
In the California Legislature, Alec advanced through key positions, including District Director and Caseworker. He gained recognition for his detail-oriented approach, strong communication skills, and ability to navigate complex issues. His work included supporting legislation to address veteran su***de and drug addiction, as well as developing strategies for early intervention and prevention. These efforts equipped him to design and manage programs, collaborate with community stakeholders, and apply data-driven solutions to improve mental health, curb substance abuse, and promote overall well-being.
In 2023, Alec joined the Southern Indian Health Council (SIHC), where he advanced rapidly from Administrative Assistant and Travel Coordinator to Event Planner and ultimately Prevention Program Coordinator. At SIHC, he contributed to culturally responsive, community-based initiatives that promoted health and resilience.
Today, Alec continues his commitment to public service as Librarian for the Eagle Nest Public Library in New Mexico. In this role, he draws on his background in research, public programming, and outreach to expand educational access, support literacy, and foster lifelong learning. Alec is dedicated to ensuring the library remains a trusted community hub—welcoming, resource-rich, and responsive to the needs of all.
