Good Afternoon Elks Fans!

Fall athletics is approaching quickly. We have some information to share that may be beneficial.

WMRMC will be hosting a sports physical day on the dome concourse July 24th from 8:00-3:00 PM. The cost is $25 per physical. All student-athletes within the district are welcome to receive a sports physical. Parents must accompany student-athletes as there is paperwork to fill out. AIA by-laws mandate that High School students receive an annual physical to be cleared to play sports. We have packets available for students/parents on this day. Any student-athlete that does not have a current physical on file will not be allowed to practice/participate until that is completed. The official start dates for all fall sports is below (per coaches).

Dear Parents of RVHS Students,

The end of the school year is fast approaching! As we wind down, it's time for your student to demonstrate their learning. All students except seniors will participate in testing on April 4th. Our schedule is as follows (times are approximate).

-Freshmen-ACT Aspire: 7:25 – 2:15 (Science Hallway)

-Sophomores-Pre ACT: 7:25 – 10:30 (will be released at 10:30) (Auditorium)

-Juniors-ACT: 7:25 – 1:00 (English Hallway)

Juniors will also be taking AZ-SCI on April 10th. This test will take approximately 2 hours and begin at 7:25. On April 10th, RVHS will be on a normal school day bell schedule.

If a Senior has a D or F, we encourage them to come in for the academic day between 2:30-4:00.

Due to testing protocol with the ACT, we are bound by specific testing administrative procedures. Students may bring calculators and a bottle of water. Phone usage will not be allowed. If a student brings a phone they must have it turned off (not silent) and stored in their backpack or vehicle. We cannot allow students to leave campus until after the entire testing block for that grade level is completed. That means all students within a specific grade level will be required to stay at school until their testing time ends. If they finish the test early, they cannot leave or get on their phones. RVHS will provide lunch for Freshmen and Juniors in their testing classrooms. Breakfast burritos will be available Tuesday morning. For Freshman and Juniors, we will have pizza, wings, nachos and salad for them to eat for their lunch.

We will have an academic afternoon on Tuesday April 4th. Teachers will be in their classrooms from 2:30- 4:00 PM for students that need to come in and get help for their classes.

Happy Monday Elks Fans!

In case you haven’t noticed, Spring Sports is in full swing! Cold weather, snow and wind have greeted us. This is typically how it goes for our spring sport student-athletes.

With that, we had to cancel games last week. We do have games scheduled for this week and are hoping we can hold them. We will update coaches if anything changes. They will then communicate that with parents and players.

We will be hosting our RVHS track meet this weekend as well. This starts at 9 AM. Come on out to the dome and support our track athletes!

Congratulations to our Girls Wrestling Team who took first place in sectionals over the past weekend! Great job Lady Elks and Coaches!

Congratulations to our Boys Basketball team for earning the 2A North Region Champions! Our boys were undefeated in Region play this season. Great job Elks and Coaches!

Our Girls Basketball team took 3rd place in the 2A North region tournament. Good work Lady Elks!

This week, our basketball teams will have play-in games. Once these are posted, we will share information with you on the location of the games.

Boys Wrestling will have their sectional tournament in Mogollon on Saturday.

Spring Sports begin today. If your child is planning on participating, they must have a completed sports packet and current physical on file. Student-athletes will not be allowed to practice until this is completed. If you need to check if your student-athlete is cleared, please contact Hillary Rider or Pat Tucker.
