When temperatures begin to cool, it’s time to start thinking about winterizing irrigation systems. Proper fall maintenance can help prevent costly repairs caused by freezing temperatures.

Before winter arrives:
• Shut off your irrigation water supply.
• Drain or blow out irrigation lines according to manufacturer recommendations.
• Inspect sprinkler heads for damage.
• Schedule professional winterization if needed.

Taking these few simple steps in the fall can help protect your irrigation system and ensure it’s ready to operate next spring!

09/10/2026

The Eagan City Council unanimously approved the City’s preliminary 2027 General Fund budget and a 4.9% property tax levy increase at its Sept. 1 meeting.

That’s down from the 6.8% increase planned in the December 2025 draft budget, after Council asked staff to bring the increase below 5% while maintaining core City services.

The revised budget continues funding for the services residents rely on, including public safety, streets and infrastructure, parks and recreation, and community development.

The budget is not yet final. A public hearing and final adoption are scheduled for Dec. 15.
