SCAM ALERT! A new round of scam text messages targeting Coloradans via text and claiming to be from the DMV are being sent out. The DMV will not contact you for unpaid tolls. The only official DMV website is https://dmv.colorado.gov/. If you are unsure if a message is a scam, don't click any links and contact the DMV directly. Do not use any contact information in the messages.

Our office will be open on Tuesday but we ask for patience as our staff navigates the new system.

To prepare for our new-and-improved system, all Colorado DMV online services and kiosks will be TEMPORARILY UNAVAILABLE starting at 7 PM tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 13, through Monday, Feb. 16!

Plan accordingly: Today & Tomorrow (until 7 PM): Last chance for online vehicle renewals and kiosk transactions. Friday after 3 PM: State DMV offices close.

Next Tuesday, Feb. 17: We’re back! Online services re-launch with a brand-new look! Don't wait! Finish your DMV business now at mydmv.colorado.gov.

The State of Colorado is implementing a system upgrade over President's Day weekend to be live on Tuesday February 17th, 2026! Our staff has been training and working hard to make sure the impact is minimal when you next visit our office.

The State of Colorado is planning on doing a major upgrade to the motor vehicle and driver’s license software over President’s Day Weekend, with a projected upgrade date of February 17th. While we are not expecting any issues, please bear with us as transactions and wait times may be longer than normal as we continue to navigate and learn the new system. Kiowa County 2025 Coordinated Election Ballot Information
Ballots were mailed to all Kiowa County Registered Voters on October 10th, 2025, to the address listed on your Colorado Voter Registration. If you have not received your ballot, please go to www.govotecolorado.com to check your registration and if necessary make any applicable changes. The post office CAN NOT forward ballots or deliver to an address that is not listed on the mailing label. Voter registration forms are also available at the Kiowa County Clerk’s office M-Th 8-4:30. Please know that updating your address at the post office does NOT update your voter registration. If you have any questions, please call the clerk’s office at 719-438-5421.

We will be Closed for ALL driver's license related functions beginning October 27th - November 5th. We will re-open driver's license on Thursday November 6th. Motor Vehicle will remain open during this time.
