Tonight DAS hosted the Monroe Barnstormers! The young people were engaged and asked great questions. They reviewed when to call 911, practiced chest compressions on a mannequin, saw the Lucas device, and toured the ambulance. Some of the moms did chest compressions too! Thanks for coming to see us.

Please remember ambulances cannot go thru snow packed roads or drive safely in high winds with no visibility just like everyone else and can actually be more hazardous in high winds. We want everyone to be safe!!!

WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE TUESDAY NIGHT THROUGH WEDNESDAY MORNING..SIGNIFICANT BLOWING SNOW AND BLIZZARD CONDITIONS MAY OCCUR
TUESDAY NIGHT AND WEDNESDAY MORNING...
Very strong winds will develop Tuesday evening with the
strong wind gusts persisting into Wednesday morning. Wind gusts over
50 mph are expected. Much of the area has 6 inches or more of snow
on the ground. While there may be an initial crust on the top layer
of the snow, it will erode quickly leading to significant blowing and
drifting of snow. Near white-out and blizzard conditions may occur.

* WHAT...Blizzard conditions possible. Light snow and snow showers
are possible. Winds gusts over 50 mph are expected.

* WHERE...Portions of central, north central, northeast, northwest,
and west central Iowa.

* WHEN...From late Tuesday night through Wednesday morning.

* IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will
likely become slick and hazardous. Whiteout conditions are
possible and may make travel treacherous and potentially nearly
impossible and life-threatening. The hazardous conditions could
impact the Wednesday morning commute. Gusty winds could bring down
tree branches.

We would like to thank everyone who came to our annual Pork Chop Dinner and who has sent us donations! We are always humbled by the wonderful support we receive from our community and the surrounding area. It takes a lot to keep an ambulance service running, especially now and your support and donations are deeply appreciated.

The money we raised this fall and over the next couple of years will primarily to towards the purchase of a new ambulance in 2027. The oldest ambulance we have is from 2014 and will soon be no longer able to meet all of the new safety standards set for ambulances by the government.

Thank you again so very much for your generosity and kindness to the Dysart Ambulance Service.
