Dirt flying, paint splattering and skills sharpened!

Prime Base Engineer Emergency Force (BEEF) Airmen from the 7th Civil Engineer Squadron put four months of training to the test during a comprehensive field exercise at Dyess AFB.

Integrating skills like tactical convoy operations, land navigation, building defensive fighting positions and Tactical Combat Casualty Care, the Airmen competed in a dynamic capture-the-flag scenario. The addition of paintballs provided participants with real-time feedback, ensuring our civil engineers are ready to build, sustain, and protect bases anytime, anywhere.

Building partnerships through shared experience

Leadership from the U.S. Air Force’s 21st Air Expeditionary Wing met with Philippine Air Force Col. Reynaldo Gabinete, 355th Aviation Engineer Wing commander, and members of the Japanese Air Self-Defense Force to strengthen collaboration through subject-matter expert exchanges.

These discussions, focused on airfield repair training, reinforced interoperability and joint readiness between allied forces during Exercise Balikatan 2026.

Today, we reflect on the courage and sacrifice of those who stood united against oppression—a powerful reminder that unity and determination can overcome even the greatest challenges.

Airmen from the 317th Airlift Wing are in Normandy, France, from June 2–7, commemorating the 82nd anniversary of D-Day alongside Allies and partners.

D-Day recognizes the valor and service across the five beaches of Normandy, where U.S. service members parachuted behind enemy lines. Their legacy continues to shape the character and commitment of today’s warfighters, reflecting America’s 250-year dedication to peace and stability.

Preserving our heritage, one airframe at a time.

Today, Team Dyess celebrated the newest additions to the Linear Air Park: the A-10 Thunderbolt II and the F-16 Fighting Falcon!

Held inside the Dyess Memorial Museum due to inclement weather, the ceremony marked the culmination of three years of hard work by the 7th Civil Engineer Squadron. Pouring over 70 cubic yards of concrete and craning these legends into their permanent positions, this was the squadron's first troop-led project in nearly nine years.

Now standing proudly in the Linear Air Park, these aircraft preserve Air Force history for our future generations. Thank you to everyone who made this possible!

Shaping the future of combat operations

During Exercise STORM FLAG 26-07, the 39th Airlift Squadron served as the critical Mission Generation Force Element (MGFE) for the 19th Air Expeditionary Wing.

317th Airlift Wing Airmen provided nonstop combat airlift and airdrop support from Gulfport, Mississippi, until a simulated incident forced a rapid relocation of operations. In a historic first for Air Mobility Command, our MGFE integrated with a Mission Sustainment Team to rapidly reposition and restore mission capability in a new environment, proving our ability to execute Agile Combat Employment in a contested environment.

"Our participation in this event is an essential piece to the AEW certification, providing mission generation from the main operation base in support of the exercise's Air Tasking Order," said Lt. Col. Jonathan Klenk, 39th AS director of operations and MGFE commander. “Practice as a team, especially as a deploying team, hones the critical skills necessary to shaping us into a lethal force."
