🎓 Congratulations to the Class of 2026! 🎓

The Dyer County Sheriff’s Office wants to take a moment to recognize and celebrate all of our graduating seniors across the county this season. Your hard work, dedication, and perseverance have brought you to this incredible milestone - and that deserves to be honored!

Graduation is one of life’s most meaningful moments - not just for the graduate, but for the parents, grandparents, siblings, and friends who have cheered them on every step of the way.

These ceremonies represent years of sacrifice and achievement, and every graduate deserves to have that moment celebrated with the dignity and joy it warrants.

We kindly remind everyone attending graduation events that our graduates are the stars of the show. Let’s keep the focus where it belongs - on them. Any behavior that disrupts, overshadows, or diminishes their special moment is a disservice to the very people we’re there to honor.

Our graduates deserve the highest honors, and so do their families.

To the Class of 2026 - the Dyer County Sheriff’s Office is proud of you.

Go out and make us proud!

In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15 falls, as National Police Week. Established by a joint resolution of Congress in 1962, National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have paid the ultimate sacrifice and lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others. The Memorial Service began in 1982 with approximately 120 survivors and supporters of LE. Currently, National Police Week has grown to a series of events which attracts thousands of survivors and law enforcement officers from around the world who converge to our Nation's Capital and participate in a number of planned events honoring our fallen.

"It is not how these officers died that made them heroes, it is how they lived." Vivian Eney Cross, Survivor

"In valor there is hope." Tacitus

"The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are as bold as a lion." Proverbs 28:1

"Carved on these walls is the story of America, of a continuing quest to preserve both democracy and decency, and to protect a national treasure that we call the American dream." President George H.W. Bush

God Bless all LEOs and their families. Thank you for your service at no small sacrifice.
