I was found in the 800 block of Joliet Street earlier this morning. If you know my owners please tell them to go to the Dyer Police Department!

Update: The animal has been taken to the Munster Humane Society to be placed up for adoption.

Last night, I was found in the 2100 block of Gettler Street. If you know my owners please tell them to go to the Dyer Police Department.

Update: The dog has been transported to the Munster Humane Society to be placed up for adoption.

I was found on the 2500 block of Hart Street. If you know my owners please tell them to go to the Dyer Police Department.

Update: The animal has been returned to its owner.

Attention all Dyer Residents:

Starting tomorrow, January 2nd, 2026, residents may go to the Dyer Town Hall to obtain their 2026 pet license(s). As a friendly reminder, per town ordinance 6-77 (a) - Any person owning, keeping, harboring, or having custody of any animal over three months of age within the town must obtain a pet license.

When you go to obtain your license, please bring the following documentation so you can pay the lowest fee possible:
• Proof of rabies vaccination for each animal you intend to license
• Proof of neutering/spaying for each animal you intend to license, if it’s not on the rabies vaccination paperwork already.

After paying your fee, a town hall representative will give you your town tag and license paperwork. You may purchase a duplicate tag for $1.00. After you have received your town tag, please attach it to the collar of your animal.

Below is a photo of the fees for neutered/spayed and non-neutered/spayed animals:

Please note: The fees below are per animal.
For example, if you are obtaining licenses for your two dogs that are neutered/spayed, you will pay $10.00 total. And will be given two town tags and two licenses.
