City of Duvall Welcome to the official page for the City of Duvall, Washington. The City was named after James Duvall, a logger, who homesteaded here in 1871.

Duvall (pronounced DOO-vahl)

Duvall is a bedroom community of 7,425 residents and is located in the Snoqualmie Valley. We are a small, yet diverse city, rich in history and tradition. Our residents represent many likes of life and represent an exciting cross section of occupations and cultures. Duvall is located on SR-203, approximately 25 miles northeast of Seattle, halfway between Monroe and Carnation, and is fast becoming a favorite residential community for both commuters and for those who choose to conduct business in a small town setting.

Good news for Duvall’s Big Rock Sports Park! King County’s 2026 Conservation Futures package includes proposed funding that could help the City of Duvall continue expanding Big Rock Sports Park while protecting the natural habitat surrounding it.

Following the recent acquisition of three parcels, the next phase would add land to create a natural buffer between the park’s active recreation areas and restored wetlands. The project could also provide new opportunities for passive recreation, including soft-surface trails or a boardwalk along the wetlands.

It’s an exciting opportunity to bring together recreation, conservation and access to nature right here in Duvall—helping preserve the natural spaces that make our community special while creating more ways for residents to enjoy them.

Just a heads up that paving for the Bruett Road watermain project is scheduled for tomorrow, Tuesday, September 8, throughout the day.

A one-lane closure will be in place while crews are working, so delays are possible. If you’re traveling through the area, consider using NE 145th Street or Big Rock Road to avoid the work zone.

Bring your own telescope and get help from Seattle Astronomical Society volunteers. Have questions? They’re happy to help!

8:30 PM–1:00 AM | Public Stargazing — Field #2
Once the field lights turn off at 8:30 PM, the real show begins! Depending on conditions, you may spot Saturn, star clusters, double stars, nebulae, galaxies and more.

Astrophotography: Field #1 is reserved for astrophotography.

Weather Updates: Check the Seattle Astronomical Society website for event status. If weather or smoke causes a cancellation or postponement, an update will be posted by 12 PM on the day of the event.

Paving for the Bruett Road watermain project is scheduled for Tuesday, September 8, and work will take place throughout the day.

There will be a one lane closure while crews are paving, so please expect some delays. If you’re able, the easiest way to avoid the work area is to use NE 145th Street or Big Rock Road as an alternate route.
