Durham Housing Authority is opening the wait list for Project-Based Voucher units at Converge Senior Living, a newly developed apartment community in Downtown Durham.

Applications open June 15th at 8:30am and will close June 26th at 5pm.

Yesterday, DHA proudly celebrated and broke ground on The Villages of Hayti! It was a historic moment celebrating the long awaited promise with community leaders, elected officials, development partners and the honorable Pastor Shirley Caesar.

The Villages of Hayti’s first phase of construction will bring 252 fully affordable housing units to Durham expected to be completed by the end of 2027.

Durham Housing Authority staff and Board members were proud to attend the 2026 Housing Is Summit in Washington, D.C., where DHA was recognized as a recipient of the Housing Is and UnitedHealthcare Community Grant focused on improving health outcomes for public housing residents.

Our Durham Choice, People Director Eric Smith also had the distinct honor of sharing insights on DHA’s ASCEND Program and the work being done to help prepare residents and families for successful transitions into their new downtown homes.

We are honored to continue the work to best serve our community.
