🕊️ Remembering Ms. Linda Mbakwem

The School for Creative Studies is saddened to share the passing of Ms. Linda Mbakwem, a former 8th Grade Science teacher who retired from SCS in June 2024.

Ms. Mbakwem dedicated 19 years to education, including 7 years serving the students and families of The School for Creative Studies. We are grateful for her commitment, service, and the impact she made on our Gryphon community.

Ms. Mbakwem passed away on July 28, 2026. Her Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 29th at 10:00 AM at Life International Church, 5310 S. Alston Avenue, Suite #100, Durham.

The family will receive friends from 9:00–10:00 AM prior to the service.

Please keep Ms. Mbakwem’s family, friends, former students, and colleagues in your thoughts and prayers.
