Durham’s proposed FY26-27 budget just dropped and includes some changes for DPR, including:
➡️ the closure of Forest Hills Pool and
➡️ ending DPR operations at Community Family Life and Recreation Center at Lyon Park

At the same time, the proposed budget ✨ continues ✨ investments in parks, trails, accessibility, recreation spaces, events, and future playgrounds and spray grounds across Durham:
💦 new and improved spray ground and playground at Forest Hills Park
🎉 enhancements to special events like Bimbe', Earth Day, and Barktoberfest
🚶‍♀️‍➡️ the highly anticipated R. Kelly Bryant Bridge Trail

We know these updates impact our community, and we’re committed to keeping residents informed throughout the process.
