What it IS:

an open call for original work by Durham-area artists 18 and up. Painting, drawing, photography, printmaking, fiber, collage. Small sculpture, case by case.

this is us telling you it is.

Habitat for Humanity of Durham today issued an open call for art, inviting Durham-area artists to submit original work for FRAMED: An Evening of Art for the House That Durham Built. CALL FOR ARTIST:

Selected artists will have their work displayed on easels throughout the venue for one evening this fall. Thirty percent of every sale will go directly to Habitat for Humanity of Durham to build and repair homes in Durham; the artist keeps seventy percent. A limited number of pieces will be offered at auction.
We build walls. Now we want something on them!

For 40 years, Habitat for Humanity of Durham has put up nearly 500 homes in this city — and repaired almost 1,000 more. Zero-percent mortgages. Local families. Real doors that really lock.

This fall we’re doing something we’ve never done before...

FRAMED is our first art show fundraiser. One night. Durham artists’ work on easels. Music, a bar, a room full of people who believe a home is where everything else starts.

30% of every sale builds homes here.
Artists keep 70%.
