We recently said goodbye to Devon Skerry after 8 years of service to the Town of Durham. The Durham Professional Firefighters Association said a sad farewell to Devon who resigned from the organization after workplace injuries sustained in service to our community. During his time, Devon showed strong leadership caring for the public, our members, and firefighters across the region. Devon was instrumental in the formation of our department’s mental health consultation program while working to assist other firefighters as a member of the peer support team.

We wish Devon the best in his next chapter.

A tractor-trailer rolled over on Route 4 in Durham on Tuesday morning, injuring the driver.

We are proud to be part of this great organization which works tirelessly to promote health, safety, and training initiatives for firefighters across the United State and Canada.
