Listen live to the daily recital from the bells of the Duke Chapel carillon.

Each weekday at 5:00 p.m., a Chapel carillonneur plays a fifteen-minute recital on the bells in the Duke Chapel tower. The recital begins with an opening excerpt of music, then a bell tolls five times to mark the hour, and then the carillonneur plays a selection of hymns and other songs appropriate for the day.

Our worship service this Sunday at 11:00 a.m. celebrates the Holy Trinity, a deep mystery that has been contemplated by the church since its inception.

The guest preacher is the Rev. Dr. Stephen B. Chapman, professor of Old Testament and biblical interpretation at Duke Divinity School and editor-in-chief of the Journal of Theological Interpretation. Rev. Dr. Chapman’s work focuses on the formation of the biblical canon, the nature of the Old Testament as Scripture, the literary dynamics of biblical narrative, the challenge of biblical violence, and the history and use of the Old Testament within the Christian tradition and Western culture.
