We don’t know what it feels like to live on the sun, but spending time outside today and tomorrow is as close as we ever want to get to finding out. Please spend as little time outdoors as possible, but if you have to be outdoors, drink plenty of water; wear lightweight, loose-fitting clothing; spend time in the shade when you can; and watch out for signs of heat-related illness! Call 911 immediately in the event of a heat stroke!

We went through our comments…and found some questions about vaccines that get asked a lot! Here are just a few of the FAQs, in our best attempt to fit them onto social media slides. Vaccines are critical for protecting you and others and keeping preventable illnesses from returning to our communities. Stay up to date on your vaccines, and talk to your doctor if you have questions or concerns.

The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for our area from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Heat index values could reach 105°F, creating dangerous conditions due to the combination of high temperatures and humidity.

Please take precautions to stay safe and prevent heat-related illnesses:

💧 Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water throughout the day, even if you do not feel thirsty.

☀️ Limit Outdoor Exertion: Avoid strenuous outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day.

🚗 Never Leave Children or Pets in Vehicles: Temperatures inside a vehicle can become deadly within minutes.

👵👶🐾 Check on Vulnerable Populations: Keep a close eye on elderly family members, children, neighbors, pets, and anyone without access to air conditioning.

Stay cool, stay hydrated, and stay safe!
