Durham Parks and Recreation Cornwallis Rd. Park (2830 Wade Rd.) got a bit of a makeover yesterday 🛝🖌️ The playground area, and some spots along the walking path, now have a few additional games for children, like hopscotch, 🎉🏃🏾‍♀️‍➡️, more color, and there are now fitness circuit prompts near the exercise equipment! We hope you get outside and active today!!

Today, a few of our partners went out to Durham Parks and Recreation Merrick-Moore Park (632 N Hoover Rd) to add some color and more opportunities for kids to play! 🏃🏾 🛝We even had the help of some UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health students 🐏💪🏾 Take a look at just a few of the new activities around the pavilion ⬇️ There are even more around the playing fields.

After experiencing record-high levels of West Nile virus (WNV) in Durham this year, we will conduct the final round of targeted ultra-low volume mosquito spraying, as recommended by the NC Department of Health and Human Services, next week, October 15-16 (dates may change depending on weather). Today is World Mental Health Day! Our Mental Health committee works to increase access points for mental health supports, reduce hesitancy existing around behavioral health, and advocate for policy changes and create tools to help navigate the current mental health system.
