This one building is a mountain to climb in and of itself, but chipping away at it a one hour at a time.

By the end of this weekend, we should have our first 40 yard dumpster filled…😳🫣🤪🙃

We’ve discovered a litter of wild kittens at the homestead. So far we’ve seen at least three wandering about…two tabby’s and one jet black. Caught this one on camera hanging out on the back steps to the farm house. 🐱🐱🐱

First bonfire at the homestead y’all and it got BIG!

Burned a good amount of the brambles and tree overgrowth from the front of the house plus a portion of the deck we tore of a few weeks ago. This is going to become a weekend ritual…who wants to join us for the next one?!🔥🔥🔥

The first picture is the current layout of the house, with the "top" of the pic being the front of the house (seen from the road). The series of small rooms are a later addition that are unfortunately unsalvageable. We will tear that section off, down to what is actually the original house layout. The plan is to then put on our own addition on the back of the house. The front road side will be restored back to as original as we can make it, with the back getting the addition to make it more liveable for us.

As we move forward on the structural part of the renovation, this is the company we will be using to cut and mill the logs right off the farm into framing material. I highly recommend him, he's great to work with and super reasonable.

Happy Friday everybody. The year is 2022, and I am proud to announce that sawmilling is now my full occupation. A lot has happened in the last two years, including a lot of learning and a lot of growth. Emerging this year with my new WoodMizer LT50 is Falco Building and Sawmill Company, LLC. I look forward to growing this business and serving the needs of my local customers here in Durham, NC and the surrounding area. Anybody need some logs milled?

Well, we started the clean out. The front door was boarded up, and once we got it open, this was the view into the foyer. But, we cleaned a lot out and got what was left fairly organized. I'm happy with our starting progress.
