In 2020, on national TV, Joe Biden said the 1992 crime bill was the worst legislation he sponsored in his political career. So his first day in office he signed in law Pell Grants for prisoners. Now, for the last 2 plus years, Democrat Gov. Roy Cooper has failed to make this Pell Grant available to prisoners. He has also denied prisoners education at their own expense....

During this Recession prison canteen prices have soared. Prison canteen is a privilege where prisoners can purchase food, cosmetics and other day to day items like vitamins, locks, pen and pads etc. that they may need for life in prison. Basically every inmate is afforded a chance to purchase canteen items. Prison systems in North Carolina have something called inmate welfare where inmates who don’t have money are allowed a few dollars a month for stamps, shower shoes, tooth paste, deodorant, shaving items, etc....

On May 4 I was shipped from Carteret Correctional to Forsyth Correctional. One Ran by an all white administration and the other by a white and black administration. Now the dorm I was housed in at Carteret is the same “1939” structure as the one here at Forsyth. The ACA (American Correctional Association), who just certified both prisons, set the maximum cap for the dorm at Carteret at 30 when the dorm had 47 prisoners but at Forsyth max.cap....

Why have laws if no one follows them? Why scream diversity in law enforcement when the laws being enforced are made in the overwhelming majority by white supremacist-capitalist that even blacks, latinos, and muslims have to enforce according to a discriminating policy culture? Here at Forsyth Correctional Center there is a Black muslim assistant superintendent, an all Black case manager staff, an African migrant Sgt that barely speaks understandable english, a LGBTQ Arab muslim officer, and a Latina female officer, that runs the prison under staffed and overcrowded with no regard for State or Federal Law....

I wake up to knocks on my door sometimes I ount the door to my cell just will open while im in my deep sleep, I get woke up to all these officers in uniforms with they sticks out & mase cans demanding to search my cell!!...

Prison medical care has gotten worse over the years just in a perfunctory measure. Around 2000 prisoners in North Carolina were made to make a co-payment for the medical care. This co-pay went from $3.00 to $5.00 in the subsequent years (circa 2005) The co-pay is charged for any ailment the prisoner complaints about but work related injuries. I can take up to 3 months to get seen on the average sick-call at most facilities....

One individual at Neuse Correctional, in Goldsboro, NC is giving some convicts a change to tell their story from their lens. And not only is he the brains behind this therapeutic, rehabilitative, accountability podcast, he also share his own story in hopes of releasing himself from infamy and custody while giving others a change to do the same thing....
