🔥 BURN BAN EXTENDED 🔥

The burn ban has been extended through September 14 at 9:00 a.m.

Please continue to avoid outdoor burning until the ban has been lifted. With dry conditions, even a small fire can quickly get out of control.

🚤 BOAT OPERATIONS REFRESHER TRAINING

This week, Durant firefighters are getting back on the water and refreshing their boat operations skills!

Training includes piloting and maneuvering boats through water obstacles, practicing rescues, and safely pulling stranded victims from the water and into the boat.

These hands-on skills are critical when our firefighters are called to respond to emergencies on the water. Training like this helps ensure our crews are prepared, confident, and ready to respond when it matters most. 💪🚒

💧🚒 A BIG THANK YOU TO OUR COMMUNITY PARTNERS! 🚒💧

The Durant Fire Department would like to give a huge THANK YOU to Stuteville Chevrolet and First United Bank for helping keep our firefighters hydrated!

Stuteville Chevrolet donated pallets of water to our fire stations yesterday, and we’re grateful for their continued support of our department and firefighters.

First United Bank also donated pallets of water to our stations earlier this summer, helping make sure our crews had plenty of water on hand during the hot summer months.

We truly appreciate both of these local businesses for thinking of our firefighters and supporting the Durant Fire Department. Community support like this means so much to our crews! ❤️

🔥 BURN BAN IN EFFECT 🔥

Bryan County is currently under a burn ban due to dry conditions and increased fire risk.

🚫 No outdoor burning is permitted while the burn ban is in effect.

The burn ban will remain in effect until 9:00 AM on August 31, 2026, unless conditions require an extension.

Please help protect our community by avoiding all outdoor burning during this time. Stay safe and stay fire aware! 🧯🔥

Great training happening at Durant Fire Department! 🚒🔥 Our firefighters are continuing to sharpen their apparatus pumping skills and prepare for real-world scenarios, including supplying water to our aerial apparatus. Training like this helps ensure our crews are ready to safely and effectively respond when every second counts. 💪🏼

🚒🎆 Celebrate Safely This Independence Day 🎆🚒

Fireworks are a fun part of the Fourth of July, but they should always be used responsibly and within the City of Durant's regulations.

✔️ Fireworks are permitted July 4 from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 a.m.

Before lighting any fireworks, take a few minutes to review the guidelines on this graphic. These regulations are in place to help protect lives, property, and our community.

A few safety reminders:
🎇 Keep a bucket of water or a hose nearby.
🎇 Never allow young children to handle fireworks.
🎇 Never relight a firework that fails to ignite.
🎇 Dispose of used fireworks by soaking them in water before throwing them away.

The Durant Office of the Fire Marshal wishes everyone a safe, enjoyable, and responsible Fourth of July celebration! 🇺🇸

Want to make sure your child’s car seat or booster seat is installed correctly? We’ve got you covered! Join us for a free car seat check where nationally certified technicians will help you learn, check for needed changes, and make sure your child rides safely.

• Child & guardian/expectant mother (6+ weeks before delivery) must attend
• Please arrive in the vehicle used most often to transport your child
• Vehicle required — car seat checks are always free!
