Edgar is described as:
•74 years old
• 5’6”
• 140 lbs.
• Brown eyes
• Black hair
• Clothing description is currently unknown

📍 Last known location: Northbound US 69/75 near University Blvd. in Durant, Oklahoma.
Edgar has dementia and is believed to be in the Durant area.

Yesterday afternoon was a special day for the Durant Police Department as we celebrated four well-deserved promotions. 👏

⭐ Drew Hale → Captain
⭐ Travis Dill → Lieutenant
⭐ Scott Phelps → Sergeant
⭐ Tommy Robertson → Sergeant

A promotion is never just about putting on new brass. It is about recognizing the dedication, character, experience, and leadership that someone has demonstrated along the way.

These new titles come with greater responsibility, but they also come with an opportunity to influence others, build up the officers around them, and continue making a difference in the community they serve.

We know each of these men will carry their new rank with the same commitment and dedication that earned it in the first place.

🎉 Swearing-In Ceremony | Welcome Officers Torin Brown and Kevin Sanchez! 👮‍♂️💙

Today, the Durant Police Department proudly held a swearing-in ceremony recognizing Officers Torin Brown and Kevin Sanchez as they officially begin their law enforcement careers with our agency.

We would like to congratulate Torin and Kevin on this exciting career move and thank them for choosing to serve the citizens of Durant. Both officers have successfully completed the administrative phase of their training with DPD and will now begin the next stage of their development in the field alongside our Field Training Officers.

We are excited to watch Torin and Kevin continue to grow, learn, and develop professionally as they progress through training and work toward becoming valued members of our department and community.

A special thank you goes to their families and friends who attended today’s ceremony. Your support, encouragement, and presence made this milestone even more meaningful. The support of family plays a vital role in the success of every law enforcement officer, and we truly appreciate you being there to celebrate this important occasion.

Today, we congratulate Scott Phelps on graduating from the 7-week OSBI Agents Academy!

The academy provides intensive, specialized training focused on advanced criminal investigations, investigative techniques, case development, evidence, and the skills needed to handle complex investigations at a high level.

Chief Petty and Deputy Chief Clark were proud to attend today’s graduation ceremony and celebrate this important accomplishment with Scott and his fellow graduates.

We are extremely proud of Scott’s dedication to professional development and his commitment to becoming an even better law-enforcement professional.

Our recruits are continuing to progress through the heat! ☀️👮‍♂️💪

This week’s training block has focused on Fi****ms Training, giving our recruits the opportunity to develop and refine the skills necessary to safely and effectively operate their duty weapons. From classroom instruction to long, demanding days on the range and scenario-based exercises, recruits are building a strong foundation in fi****ms safety, marksmanship, weapon handling, and sound decision-making under pressure.

Fi****ms proficiency is an essential part of law enforcement training. These recruits are being challenged to maintain focus, discipline, and consistency while working through the physical and mental demands of training, and doing it all while battling the Oklahoma heat!

We are proud of the dedication, determination, and professionalism they continue to demonstrate. Every round fired, every skill practiced, and every challenge overcome is another step toward becoming confident and capable law enforcement officers.

Keep pushing, recruits! Stay focused, stay safe, and keep getting better!

This week’s training block focuses on Defensive Tactics, bringing demanding physical challenges that test both their skills and their fitness. Physical fitness remains a key focus as they prepare for the demands of the law enforcement profession.
