Throwing it back to the Ready Fire Expo! 🔥

We had an incredible time connecting with everyone, showcasing what we do, and seeing the amazing turnout at the La Plata County Fairgrounds. Huge thank you to everyone who stopped by our booth, chatted with the various organizations, and made the event such a success.

🚨 SCAM ALERT 🚨
La Plata County is warning project applicants about fraudulent letters requesting wire‑transfer payments. Scammers are pulling applicant info from public meeting packets and sending fake letters that look official — even using our logo and address.

These letters tell you to wire money to the Auburn Credit Union in Alabama. This is not from La Plata County.

If you receive any unexpected payment request, contact Community Development directly before sending money.

Swing by the Bayfield Convenience Center this Wednesday, May 20, from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Mulch Master Tips:
Keep away: Mulch piles should be at least 10 feet away from any structure.
Keep it cool: Large piles can spontaneously combust (seriously!). Spread it out: 1–4 inches deep within 24 hours.
