Happy two-year match anniversary to Dawson and Owen!

From the very beginning, these two hit it off immediately, with Dawson seeing a lot of his younger self in Owen. Over the last two years, they have built a truly special connection around their shared love for the same music and movies. Their absolute go-to activity? Meeting up downtown to grab a bite to eat, followed by a walk around Durango to just walk and talk.

Dawson has jokingly referred to his match as "two old curmudgeons" because they both much prefer quality one-on-one time over big group outings! What makes this milestone so beautiful is the equally positive impact they have had on one another. After two years of mentorship, laughs, and deep conversations, they now truly view each other as family.

We are so proud of the bond, trust, and mutual support Dawson and Owen have built. Thank you, Dawson, for your incredible dedication and for being such a meaningful part of Owen’s life!

Big of the Month: Kirk!

We are absolutely thrilled to celebrate Kirk as our Big of the Month! Kirk has been a phenomenal mentor to his Little, Leo. Because both Kirk and Leo’s family were relatively new to the area and looking to build their community, this match has been a perfect fit. Kirk's incredible consistency and investment of time have meant the world to Leo and his family.

When Kirk isn't working at Durango Hot Springs Resort and Spa, he and Leo are always finding active ways to connect. Whether they are getting outside to swim, jumping on the trampoline, or exploring something new, they always have a blast together. Leo truly looks up to Kirk and knows he can always count on him. In fact, Leo’s mom shares that every single time Leo comes home from hanging out with Kirk, he is just "beaming!"

Big Futures Coach Highlight: Nathan

Nathan has been part of Big Futures programming since it began in 2024. After 12 years as a consultant, he recently stepped back from the corporate world to invest more intentionally in family and community. Nathan believes that success looks different for everyone, and that thoughtful goal setting, grounded in self-awareness, can help young adults move forward with clarity and confidence.

Happy one-year match anniversary to Bundy and Jocelyn!

Over the last year, this match has been all about diving into new experiences and exploring Durango together. They love getting outside, working on art projects, and finding fun spots to visit around town. From bowling at and swimming at , to going horseback riding and doing the mining experience at , every outing is a fun adventure.

This year, they have both helped each other step out of their comfort zones – Jocelyn tried climbing for the first time, while Bundy went to her very first trampoline park .hightrampolinepark! Bundy shared that Jocelyn fills her days with laughter, and she's so grateful to have her as her Little.

We are so proud of all the fun memories and brave steps this duo has taken in their first year together!

Thank you to Durango Devo for hosting our matches for this wonderful opportunity! We had a blast :)

Even after 20 years, we are still constantly on the look out for new ideas and new ways to share the joy of cycling with local kids. This spring, that included kicking of an exciting new collaboration with our friends at Big Brothers Big Sisters of SW Colorado.

After an awesome first day over at Three Springs, Devo coaches and staff shared a full mini-season of riding with BBBS students and mentors. We used Devo's office at Animas High School as our base camp and shredded the surrounding area on Devo's highly-capable fleet of youth and adult mountain bikes. In true Devo-fashion, our days included a mix of pedaling, building skills, eating snacks, playing games, and generally goofing off!

Thanks for riding with us, Big Brothers Big Sisters! And, thank you to all our Devo donors and sponsors: your support allows us to put together projects like this one and share cycling with more kids every season.

Ali Herrin is a recent Fort Lewis College graduate and current intern at BBBS. She studied Sociology and Human Services and did her senior seminar project on the importance of community engagement. Ali loves being part of the BBBS mission and hopes to continue a career in nonprofit work or social services!

Happy three-year match anniversary to Nicole and Brooklyn!

Over the last three years, Nicole and Brooklyn have created a truly special friendship. They are always quick to share just how much they have in common! From playing at the local park to exploring the farmer's market and celebrating birthdays, they always find fun ways to grow closer.

What makes this milestone so beautiful is how deep their bond has become. Nicole recently shared, "through the course of our match, we have come to feel like family.
