The engine responded on the assignment to the 3rd alarm structure fire in Duryea today. Engine 1 was tasked with establishing water and supplying to the Old Forge and Moosic Ladders.

A quick fire safety reminder for this weekend. When you change your clocks, change the batteries in your smoke detectors and make sure that they’re operable. Also a good opportunity to make sure that your fire extinguisher is accessible and in working order.

With the winter storm approaching, we kindly ask that when you are clearing snow to please make sure that the hydrant that protects your home is clear. Hydrants obstructed by snow can be difficult to locate, and will take extra time to clear before they can be used. Taking the time to clear your nearest hydrant can make a big difference for you or those around you in the event that it is needed. We are very appreciative of any help you are able to lend!

Today’s the day! Watch and listen for us when we hit the road around 1pm!

This afternoon the Department received official correspondence from the North Pole, and we are pleased to announce that Santa will be coming to town in the early afternoon of Saturday December 20th! We plan to hit the road at 1:00pm and proceed through town chauffeuring Santa aboard a Dupont Fire Engine. As in the past, we will be posting a live Santa tracker so you can view Santa’s location in real time as he travels throughout town. Mark your calendars!

Dear Dupont residents, several weeks ago you may have seen our 2025 annual fund drive letter arrive in the mail. Money from this fund drive supports our daily operations in the form of utilities, equipment, preventive maintenance, insurance, and general operating costs.
