After losing her husband to IPF in 2013, Sally Mundell suddenly found herself a single parent to two young girls and in a place of self-reflection. The traumatic loss left her with a strong desire to focus on what’s important in her life – her kids and making a positive difference in the world. She found that channeling her grieving into giving provided a path of healing for herself and her girls,
but as a single, working mom, it was difficult to find kid-friendly volunteer opportunities. Researching nonprofits was time intensive, limited staffing resulted in inconvenient volunteer hours and monetary donations didn’t provide the experience she was longing for. They say necessity is the mother of invention, and this motivated mom decided to invent a new charitable concept – a place where connection, convenience and consciousness are packaged together to create an engaging, healing experience for families, while helping those who need it most. On a mission to instill in children the desire to give back while inspiring the next generation of giving, The Packaged Good provides a fun, inspirational environment where kids and community groups can decorate and personalize care packages and create craft projects for people in need. Whether it’s giving to our armed forces, the elderly, the homeless or hospitalized kids, The Packaged Good partners with vetted, reputable non-profit organizations to allow volunteers the ability to support causes closest to their hearts while handling all of the logistics.
