Atlanta Vietnam Veterans Business Association Honoring the fallen every year, and providing scholarships to the next generation of military vetera

Founded in 1981, the AVVBA is an affiliation of more than 250 Atlanta area business men and women who served in Vietnam during the 1963-1975 conflict. These men and women continue to honor their fallen brothers through a variety of programs.

Free access to the History Center museum for Veterans and family members while the weather warms up beginning at 9am. AVVBA Honorary Life Member LTG Claude โ€œMickโ€ Kicklighter was inducted as the 156th member of the Georgia Military Veterans Hall of Fame for Achievement in 2022. Mick served as the Commander of USA Western Command, Director of the Army Staff and Commander of the 25th Infantry Division during his military career. He also served as the first Director of the DOD 50th Commemoration of the Vietnam War program beginning in 2012. He was a great friend to AVVBA during his tenure. Visit GMVHOF.org

AVVBA member Ron Helmly was inducted as the 200th member of the Georgia Military Veterans Hall of Fame for Achievement in 2025. Ron served two tours in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne. Joining the Army Reserve, he served in several Command positions and was recalled to active duty 1995 as Deputy Chief of Army Reserves and thereafter as Assistant Secretary of the Army. In 2002, he assumed duties as Commanding General of US Army Reserve Command followed by assignment as Senior US Defense Representative to the US Embassy, Pakistan leading all US military activities in support of our Global War on Terror. AVVBA member Mike Hamer was inducted as the 199th member of the Georgia Military Veterans Hall of Fame for Valor in 2025. Mike was awarded two Bronze Stars with V devices for his heroic actions in combat as the Commander of B/3/12 Infantry, 4th Infantry Division in March 1967 while serving in South Vietnam.
