At 3:08 CST Dunlap Fire Department was dispatched to the report of a single vehicle accident on Hwy 111 north of the waterfalls. The initial report was of a semi truck coming down the mountain had overturned blocking 2 lanes of traffic with unknown injures. First arriving units found the truck on its side with the driver in the cab. The driver was able to get out under his own power and was transported by Puckett EMS with minor injuries. Dunlap Firefighters and Sequatchie County EMA contained a diesel fuel leak and setup traffic cones so traffic was allowed to continue around the accident site. Troopers with the Tennessee Highway Patrol are investigating the accident with assistance from Sequatchie County Sheriff’s deputies. Griswold Wrecker’s were called to cleanup the wreckage. Pictures by Chief Hatfield and Lt Lockhart.

Update. I failed to mention the assistance from TDOT. TDOT crews responded and controlled traffic while the wreckage was being cleaned up. Their assistance allowed Dunlap Fire to get its units back in service.
