***IMMEDIATE RELEASE***

***PLEASE SHARE***

Within this last week, the Tama County Sheriff's Office received a report from the Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office of a suspicious male subject who had attempted to make contact with a female driver who was stopped at the road construction on HWY 21, just south of HWY D65 in Tama County. The female had advised Black Hawk County Dispatch that the male subject did have a vehicle parked on the side of the road. A Tama County Deputy responded and was unable to locate the vehicle or the male subject.

The Black Hawk County and Linn County Sheriff Office's have reported similar incidents. Both of these Sheriff Offices have reported assaults associated with these incidents.

We urge caution in driving on the roads as well as reporting suspicious activity immediately.

These incidents have been reported near and after dark.

Please see the attached press release from the Black Hawk County Sheriff's Office - Waterloo, Iowa

If you have any questions, please contact the Tama County Sheriff's Office at 641-484-3760. If you don't feel comfortable or if someone you do not know approaches you while you are stopped or have pulled over, please lock your doors and call 911 so a deputy can investigate.
