The Dunellen Police Department August 2026 Blotter is now available at the link above. Notable incidents and arrests this past month include multiple DWI's, Money Laundering, Shoplifting, Hindering Apprehension, and Impersonating a Law Enforcement Officer.

Charges are merely an accusation and the first step in the legal process. All named defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

🚸 SCHOOL IS BACK — LET’S SLOW DOWN, DUNELLEN! 🚸

As students return to school, we’re asking everyone in our community to help keep our children, crossing guards, pedestrians, cyclists, and fellow motorists safe.

📚 Please remember:
• Slow down and obey posted speed limits, especially in school zones and residential neighborhoods.
• Stop for pedestrians in crosswalks and give them plenty of time to cross.
• Be alert for children who may suddenly enter the roadway.
• Put the phone down and eliminate distractions while driving.
• Allow extra time during school arrival and dismissal.
• Be patient and courteous around schools and during drop-off and pick-up.

A few extra seconds can make all the difference.

Five-year-old Maxwell from Dunellen has been fighting biliary atresia since birth. After an incredible journey, he is now home following a lifesaving liver transplant! Max loves police cars, fire trucks, and ambulances, so it was especially meaningful to have so many local first responders, including a New Jersey State Police helicopter flyover, there to welcome him home.

Joining in the welcome were Mayor Jason F. Cilento and members of the Dunellen Borough Police Department, Green Brook Police Department, Middlesex Borough Police Department, Piscataway Township Police Department, Hudson County Sheriff’s Office, New Jersey State Police, Dunellen Defender Fire Company #1, Green Brook Volunteer Fire Company, Dunellen Rescue Squad, South Plainfield EMS, and many others from the community.
