Next Friday, June 5, 2026, officers from the Dunellen Borough Police Department will assist in carrying the Flame of Hope as it travels through New Jersey to help kick off the 2026 Special Olympics.

Dunellen officers will receive the flame from the Plainfield Police Department at the North Ave (Route 28) border and safely es**rt it through the Miracle Mile before passing it on to the Middlesex Borough Police Department at the Bound Brook Rd (Route 28) border to continue its journey.

The Flame of Hope is expected to arrive in the early afternoon, sometime between 1-2pm, though exact arrival times may vary.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

IMPACT...Damage to roofs, siding, trees, and power lines is
possible.

Trenton, Old Bridge, East Brunswick, South Brunswick, Manalapan,
Ewing, Princeton, Florence, Burlington, Bristol, Jamesburg,
Hightstown, Bordentown, Cranbury, Pennington, Yardley, Hopewell,
Tullytown, Allentown, and Roosevelt.
