Dog Beach Honeymoon Island

Feel free to post info, pictures on the page.I created this page years ago because it was my dog's favorite beach. He sadly passed away on 8/10/2013 because he had bone cancer. Bogi, my black lab LOVED it at the beach. My new rescue doggie Simbi a Border Collie mix not so much she wants nothing to do with it. each. It's located on the southern side of the park, and is a wide-open doggie playground. The water is shallow, so dogs can walk in the water, and really cool off on a hot day. Make sure you bring a Frisbee for added fun on this awesome beach adenture. Shallow areas, clear blue water. Dog wash area. Dogs are allowed in designated areas such as the pet beach on the southern tip of the island and on the nature trail. DOGS MUST be on a 6 FOOT hand held leash at all times!!! Owners are also required to supervise and clean up after their dog. Follow the signs in the park for the dog beach. There are two doggie wash stations available to rinse off the saltwater after you are done playing. Make sure you bring plenty of water for your dog. The walk to the doggie beach rom the parking lot is approx. 500 yards. I am in no way affiliated with Florida State Parks.
