CAUTION - DRIVEWAY SCAMMERS ON THE PROWL

The two individuals pictured below, may be scamming area seniors regarding driveway repair work. A township resident called police to share that an elderly family member had agreed to driveway repair work in the township from the pair in the amount of $3200.00. However, the only work completed was the spraying of an oily substance on to the driveway. The entire process only lasted 45 minutes.

Once family members discovered the scam, stop payment was placed on the check for the incomplete work. The pair returned to the home but left without incident and they did not attempt to contact anyone at the residence. The caller asked that we alert others.

If you were a potential victim of this scam, please contact your local law enforcement agency.

The 25th annual Mayfly Music Festival will be held this Saturday June 13th at Wolverine Park in the Village of Dundee from 11:00am until 11:30pm. A fireworks display will begin at 10:00pm. The weather forecast looks fantastic for Saturday.

As a reminder, Toledo St. between Monroe St. (M-50) and Washington St. will be closed to all vehicular traffic on Saturday between 9:00am and 11:00pm.

Plenty of free parking will be available at the Dundee Area Senior Center (pictured below) located at 284 W. Monroe St., as well as the municipal lots located at Ford Park West, the Village Office parking lot and in the Tecumseh St. lot next to Nutrition Village. Limited on-street parking will be available on side-streets near the park where not prohibited by sign. However, do not block driveways or your vehicle will be towed and stored at your expense.

The Dundee Police Department will have all staff on duty this weekend to ensure a very safe experience for everyone attending the festival. In addition, the Michigan State Police and Monroe County Sheriff's Office - Michigan will be here to assist as well. Please stop by our tent near the entrance of the park to receive free safety materials for the kids. All Hands on Deck

The Dundee Police Department had a very visible presence at and around Dundee Community Schools for their last day today. We caught pictures of the final busses leaving and the teachers waving (okay jumping for joy) 😃🤣.

Have a great summer! With the kids out of school, motorists are asked to keep an eye out for young drivers, bicyclists and walkers out and about on the streets and sidewalks. Thank you.
