As we enter this solemn time of the year , the Board Members of Friends of The Library Dundee Florida Incorporated would like to take this opportunity to wish the residents of the Town of Dundee and our patrons public and businesses a Happy and Prosperous Thanksgiving as we enter the festive schedule in the lead-up to Christmas !!

Make the most of your library as it remains a place for vital resources in the most extraordinary of ways. The Dundee Public Library is such a place and is a part of the Polk County Library Cooperative. Our library is one of seventeen municipal libraries within the county offering a wide array of services the patrons and residents within their respective communities. Our library , here in Dundee is located at 202 East Main Street and is part of the Municipal Complex which also houses the Town Hall. Operating hours of the Dundee Public Library are from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm , Monday through Friday and from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm on Saturday’s. National holidays are observed , so the library will be closed on those days unless otherwise specified.

On hand are sixteen desktop computers available to the public for their use , free of charge. For the children, there are seven I-Pads for their use during operational hours. Services offered by the library, include photo copying , laminating services , facsimiles being sent and received along with the scanning and collating of information to be sent via e mail . All of these services have applicable pricing and are available upon request from a staff member of the Dundee Public Library . We also offer Basic Computer Classes here at the library on Wednesday’s and Friday’s from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm administered by a library volunteer. Information concerning this can be provided is available upon request.

The Dundee Public Library in conjunction with Friends of The Library Dundee Florida Incorporated also conducts a Summer Reading Program for the children within our local community as well as also hosting several other fundraising events throughout the calendar year. We also have an ongoing Book Sale here at the library , with the funds raised being used for our social programs which benefit the children within our community. Please note that the Dundee Public Library will be closed on Saturday 31st August and will not reopen until Tuesday 3rd September, as we commemorate Labor Day. Our normal hours of operation will be as usual , from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm .

The Friends of The Library Dundee Florida Incorporated in conjunction with the Dundee Public Library continues to have their year-round Book Sale at the Library. On offer you will be able to find a wide variety of books , Books on CD, magazines , DVD’s , paperbacks and hardback books for sale. Options are that you can fill a bag for $1.00 with any variety of books on sale or you can simply purchase at the prices shown for individual items as seen below.

Hardbacks $1.00 each
Large Paperbacks 0.50 cents each
Small Paperbacks 0 .50 cents each
Magazines 0.10 each

NB: All funds raised from the Book Sale goes towards the Friends of The Library Dundee Florida Incorporated (FOL)Summer Reading Program and many of the other associated programs presided over by FOL throughout the calendar year. Our Summer Reading Program Schedule for 2019 has now come to an end. Friends of The Library Dundee Incorporated along with the Dundee Public Library Florida would like to take this opportunity to thank family members who brought along their children for each of the events scheduled on our events’ calendar !!!

We would also like to take the opportunity to thank many of the invited guests who participated, giving willingly of their time to make each of the programmed events such a tremendous success . In 2020 , we hope that there will be the continued support from within the parents and caregivers for the events we will have scheduled for the children within the community !
