🎓🚒 Congratulations, Kellie Hines! 🚒🎓

Congratulations to Kellie on her graduation from Patapsco High School on June 2nd with a major in Homeland Security and a focus on Fire Services.

Starting as a Junior Member, Kellie has become a vital part of the Wise Avenue Volunteer Fire Company family—helping build the Train Garden, volunteering at countless fundraisers, and earning a spot as one of our Top 10 Responders in 2025.

Kellie’s career goal is to attend the Fire Academy and turn her passion for volunteering into a career in the fire service. We have no doubt she’ll accomplish great things.

Congratulations, Kellie! We are incredibly proud of all you’ve achieved and can’t wait to see what the future holds for you. ❤️🚒

At approximately 2030 hours on June 8, 2026, Engine 271 was dispatched for a reported commercial building fire at Midway Lumber on North Point Boulevard.

Engine 271 responded along with Engine 9 and Unit 279. Upon arrival, crews discovered a dumpster fire behind a residence located to the rear of Midway Lumber. After a quick size-up, the incident was downgraded as crews determined the fire was confined to the dumpster and posed no threat to nearby structures.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire and checked for any extension before clearing the scene.

Great work by all units for a quick knock and keeping the incident from spreading.

🕊️ It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Carl Daniel Bruzdzinski, Sr. on May 29, 2026.

A lifelong Dundalk resident, devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, Carl dedicated his life to both his family and his community. He began his fire service career with Wise Avenue Volunteer Fire Company at age 14 and went on to serve 39 years with the Baltimore County Fire Department, retiring as a Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator.

Please keep Claudia and the entire Bruzdzinski family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Rest easy, Carl. Thank you for your service and dedication. You will never be forgotten. ❤️🚒

Tonight, members of Wise Ave Volunteer Fire Company were proud to host a joint training with members of North Point - Edgemere Volunteer Fire Department featuring BGE demonstration trailers, including both the gas and electric hazard units. The hands-on training provided members with valuable real-world demonstrations on identifying potential utility hazards, understanding emergency response considerations, and strengthening operational knowledge when responding to gas and electrical emergencies. Training opportunities like these help ensure our volunteers remain prepared, informed, and ready to safely serve our community when every second counts.

⚠️ Safety Reminder: If you encounter downed power lines, stay far away, keep others clear of the area, call 911 for emergencies, and report the outage/hazard to BGE at 1-877-778-2222.
