The City of Duncanville has contracted with Cooksey Communications to conduct a communications assessment. Cooksey has undertaken a Comprehensive Strategic Communications Assessment, also known as an “audit,” for the City of Duncanville, which began in the summer of 2026. The Cooksey team will interview internal and external stakeholders to gather perspectives on Duncanville's communications efforts. Benchmarking will also be conducted with peer and aspirational cities inside Texas. Cooksey will evaluate the City’s various communications channels and make recommendations. The result will be a plan to increase community engagement through communications.

The best book sale in the Best Southwest area is right around the corner with the annual Friends of the Duncanville Public Library book sale! The sale kicks off on Thursday, September 10 with a special Friends Member Preview, and closes on Saturday afternoon (September 12).

This cash-only sale is a perfect time to try a little retail bibliotherapy, build a home library for the kids, or discover a new book treasure!

Funds from the book sale are used to support the Library, with the Friends providing items such as summer reading club grand prizes, program enrichment, and more.
