Fourth Grade in the Garden! 🌼🥕

Fourth graders in Mrs. Langel’s class got to spend some time in the school garden today! Students rolled up their sleeves, got their hands in the dirt, and helped plant flowers along with a variety of seeds, including radishes and carrots. 🥕🌱

We had so much fun learning, planting, and working together outside. We can’t wait to watch our garden grow and see the results of all our hard work! 🌻💚

Making Multiplication Make Sense!

Miss Kemberling’s 4th grade class is diving into our Bridges Math curriculum and exploring different models and strategies for multiplication! Today, students used tile arrays to solve a variety of multiplication problems. By using hands-on math manipulatives, students were able to visualize what multiplication means and see how arrays can represent multiplication equations. Our fourth graders loved getting hands-on and learning multiplication in a whole new way!

SES Families,

Thank you to all of our students, parents, and guardians for an amazing start to the 2026–2027 school year! Our students have done a wonderful job adjusting to new routines, learning expectations, and getting back into the excitement of being at school. We appreciate your continued support as we work together to make this a successful school year for all of our Blackhawks.

Before sharing this week's newsletter, I would like to ask for your help when using Pick Up Patrol for an early dismissal. When entering an early dismissal request, please use the notes section to identify who will be picking up your child from Susquenita Elementary School. This information is especially helpful to our staff as we work to ensure that students are dismissed safely to the appropriate adult.

Mrs. Campbell’s class is starting a new academic, social, emotional curriculum this year — PATHS (Promoting Alternative THinking Strategies).

Today, her students finally got to meet Twiggle the Turtle and friends: Henrietta the Hedgehog, Duck, Cat, and Dog. Through the many lessons, students will learn about different emotions and feelings, as well as strategies to improve behaviors and learning. They will also continue to implement Susquenita Elementary’s very own High Five Values!
