Susquenita Honors & Remembers the victims we lost & the brave whose heroic measures were remarkable on September 11th.
Twenty five years ago, Susquenita students and staff slowly learned of the tragic events of that terrible morning. We had been under a construction project and did not have tv’s in the classroom at the time. A student working on a desktop computer saw a “ticker tape” news feed and alerted a teacher. The news slowly spread and our teachers will always remember their students’ faces as we tried to get through the day as best we could. It is said that each generation has a defining moment and this was their moment. The details of that day will forever live in everyone’s memory. Take pause today as you remember those who lost their lives and the heroes near and far. 🇺🇸

“What Did You Do Over Summer Vacation? -Teacher Edition” focused on a lot of firsts for Mrs. Rebecca Moran and her family. Their daughter Olivia went to the beach for her first time! They visited carnivals, zoos, had family cookouts, and did mommy and me gymnastics and swimming classes. They visited fun pools, water parks, and splash pads! 💦

Susquenita School District and Quandel invite you to celebrate the campus’ “Glo-up”. As you may know Quandel generously gifted Susquenita the beautiful signage celebrating our 2025 Field Hockey Champions. To continue to show our Blackhawk Community a little more love, they are hosting an informal tailgate before the Homecoming Game and have even donated towards our Homecoming Dance festivities! Stop by and see some of the before and after renovations at the Big Event Tent located near the High School Gymnasium between 5:00-6:00 on Friday, October 2nd.

Congratulations Coach Barb Adams and welcome to the Susquenita Athletic Hall of Fame. The name Coach Adams or “T” as some knew her is synonymous with field hockey at SHS. Coach Adams had well over 500 wins during her tenure, led teams to State Playoffs, and has a full roster of players who advanced onto successful collegiate programs. Come out on Oct 9th to celebrate her and the other Class of 2026 Inductees! 🏑

Just because the kids are back in school, doesn’t mean summer is quite over yet! What Did You Do Over Summer Vacation? - Teacher Edition continues with some focus on family. Susquenita Principal, Mr. Craig Funk and Mrs Funk had a great time this summer with their granddaughter camping and enjoying s’mores over the campfire. Mr. Funk even taught her to fish! 🎣 He may be the principal in charge at Susquenita, but we know who is really the boss! Peep the t-shirt 😉

This year marks the 50th year since the 1976 Susquenita Football Team won the Blue Mountain Conference Championship. Coached by Frank Snyder, Sr., Gary Cryder, Michael Rash, and Frank Snyder, Jr., the team went 12-0-0 that season! We welcome the team to The Susquenita Athletic Hall of Fame! Inductees will be recognized Oct 9 at 6:00 before the football game vs. Camp Hill. This is the only team that Susquenita Football currently has on their schedule that the 1976 team would have competed against.

Join us in congratulating Susquenita Athletic Hall of Fame Class of 2026 Inductees! This year’s athletes, coaches, and championship team will be recognized on Friday, October 9th.
Introductions and recognition will take place at 6:00 prior to the football game. Come out and celebrate them as they are honored for their athletic accomplishments and contributions to Susquenita Athletics!
