I just want to thank all of you who made it to the polls yesterday. I am not disappointed for me, I am disappointed for you. I would have been honored to be the one to represent you, because I know why I was in the race from the beginning, it was to care about you and carry YOUR message to the Capitol. However; we can still be effective with our voices by holding our elected officials accountable and by watching their voting records. Calling, emailing and writing to the people who represent us is the way we collectively make our voices heard. My hope is that everyone who voted will take other people to the polls with you the next time you vote. Because every vote does count, please don't miss the opportunity to cast yours in EVERY election. Again, thank you for your support, prayers and encouragement. Just want to say thank you to everyone who has voted or will vote later today for taking the time to cast YOUR vote. This election and all elections are very important and each of us need to continue our efforts in encouraging our fellow citizens to exercise their right to vote. Too many of our loved ones have made the ultimate sacrifice for any of us to ever take this privilege for granted. Thank you for all the wonderful support and encouraging words along the way leading up to this election. I promise should I be the one the voters choose tonight that I will work my heart out for you and will always value your input, because this election is about YOU, not me. It never has been about me, it has always been about the opportunity to represent YOU. May God Bless each of you and your families and may God Bless Oklahoma!

LOCAL NEWSPAPER ENDORSES PEGGY DAVENPORT FOR STATE SENATE IN THE AUGUST 26TH EDITION.

READ ENDORSEMENT BELOW:

Soon after the new boundary lines for Senate District 43 were formed, we voiced the importance of selecting someone from Duncan and Stephens county to represent our area in the state legislature.

We acknowledged the increasing urbanization of both House and Senate chamber, the related decline of representation of our area, of rural Oklahoma and of the southwestern part of our state and the general concern that we might be left out of key decisions.

We noted the benefits of choosing a local person, one known by area leaders and residents, one well-versed in and concerned about local issues, one capable of researching facts and making good or even difficult decisions, one willing to represent the best interests and needs of Duncan and Stephens County, one accessible for two-way communication, one, in essence, of us to occupy our seat so critical a place during so significant a time.

If you remain undecided, we recommend your consideration of Peggy Davenport of Duncan as the Republican nominee for Senate District 43. She meets the criteria for making a positive difference.

Thanks to everyone for your support and your vote. I do have a request of you that will help tremendously in getting out the vote. I would very much appreciate if you ALL will email and Facebook your contacts encouraging them to cast their vote for Peggy. It is amazing all the good wishes that have been coming my way because people believe that I will do what I say, and I will. However; the votes must be cast!!! I can't wait to get to the Capitol to start representing YOU. I am so committed to listening to the people and being someone you all will be very comfortable with.
