Mark your calendars! The annual Red, White, and Boom fireworks show will be Friday, July 3 at Abe Raizen Park.

The park opens at 5 p.m. with food trucks, bounce houses, and face painting.

New this year: Duncan Public Library is hosting a foam party for the kids at 6 p.m.! We highly recommend bringing them a towel and a change of clothes. Water shoes are a great choice of footwear for the foam party.

At 5:30 p.m., the band Von Hawks Rising takes the stage, then after the sun goes down - around 9:30 - the fireworks show begins.

Note: parking lot closes at 9 p.m. for safety!

Red, White, and Boom is sponsored by Chisholm Trail Casino and City of Duncan.

See you there!

PSA:

Today’s audible noon testing of the Outdoor Warning Sirens System will sound a little different from the regular weekly test, due to cloud cover.

Instead of the full test, you'll hear a "growl test," which is a short wail lasting just a few seconds, and the audible lightning sirens will have an up-down sound followed by verbal notification that it is only a test.

The growl test allows Duncan Emergency Management to test the battery function of the sirens

Do you know the rules of the road? State law requires drivers to move over or slow down for any vehicle with flashing lights on the side of the highway, including first responders, law enforcement, maintenance workers or cars with their hazard lights flashing.

Safety on the roads is a shared responsibility. We all must do our part to get everyone home safely. At any time, a vehicle may need to pull over onto a highway shoulder, which can be a hazardous situation for those parked on the side of the roadway and for passing motorists.

Additionally, Oklahoma’s highway work zones are not just established construction zones; they can happen any time, any place for emergency responders working a crash scene, or for maintenance crews making emergency repairs.

Let's all stay safe together!

Visit Lake Humphreys! It's a great place to get outside and enjoy the fresh air and sunshine - and enjoy the famous Lake Humphreys deer.

Whether you're fishing, camping, or just enjoying watching the wildlife, remember: Pack it in, pack it out. Whatever you bring with you needs to leave with you.

We strive to empty the receptacles routinely and ask you to call 580-252-0250 or report in the DunCAN Connect app if they need maintenance.
