Clear Creek/Gilpin Co. Animal Shelter (Charlie's Place) Charlie's Place is a county-owned and managed animal shelter serving the residents of Clear Creek and Gilpin Counties.

We are open by appointment in the afternoons. Charlie's Place is a new, modern, county owned and managed animal shelter serving the residents of Clear Creek and Gilpin Counties. We are located in Dumont, just 40 minutes west of Denver on the I70 corridor. Spay/neuter vouchers are available for Clear Creek and Gilpin County residents. ADOPTABLE DOG--BITSY. Bitsy is a loving, affectionate, 1 1/2 year-old spayed female Shepherd mix. Originally rescued after being found on the side of a road, Bitsy is currently in a living situation in Dumont where dogs are not allowed inside. Bitsy is great with other dogs, kids, and cats. Beautiful Takka needs a home! Takka is a 9-year-old spayed female, AKC-registered German Shepherd. She was a loyal, loving companion to a disabled Vietnam veteran who passed away. His spouse is elderly and can no longer care for her. Takka knows basic commands and is good with kids, dogs, and cats. For more information, email Sue at [email protected].
