Today is National E-Bike Day! 🚲

The Duluth Police Department is proud to highlight our E-Bikes and the many benefits of sustainable transportation in our community. In 2025, DPD’s Bike Patrol rode 2,082 miles while patrolling — helping officers stay connected, visible, and accessible throughout our neighborhoods.

At approximately 2:45pm, Friday, May 22, officers observed a suspicious vehicle in the 500 block of West 8th Street. The two occupants were detained and the driver of the vehicle was identified as 45-year-old Dustin Daniels.
Daniels originally provided officers a false name and was showing signs of drug impairment. Officer Munger, who is a Drug Recognition Evaluator (DRE), investigated Daniels for DWI related to restricted controlled substances.
K9 Fitz was deployed for a drug sniff and alerted on the vehicle for the presence of illegal narcotics. During the search of the vehicle, officers located 105.49 grams of methamphetamines, 26.46 grams of crack/cocaine, 1.39 grams of fentanyl, and over $2,700 dollars in cash.
Daniels was lodged at the St. Louis County Jail for pending charges of 1st degree sales, giving a false name to a police officer, 4th degree DWI restricted controlled substance, and a Wisconsin Department of Corrections warrant.
