REMINDER:
The Eleventh District Bar Association and the Iron Range Bar welcome you to the annual Duluth/Iron Range Bar Picnic, to be held Friday, August 23, 2024. Golf will be
at the beautiful Superior National Course in Lutsen, Minnesota and dinner will follow at Bluefin Bay in Tofte, Minnesota where this year's dinner theme will be a Wild West
Picnic so put on your cowboy hat and boots and join us for what is sure to be a good time!
The Social Hour will begin at 4:00 p.m. at Bluefin Bay following the completion of golf (or avoidance of golf, depending on your style)
The Bocce Tournament will also take place at Bluefin Bay, beginning at 4:00 p.m.
A Western-style Dinner will be served beginning at 5:00 p.m.

It is time again for 11th District Bar Association's Annual Member Meeting!
Please join us on second floor of Clyde Iron Works, 2920 W Michigan St, Duluth, MN 55806, on Tuesday, May 14, 2024. A social hour will begin at 5:00 p.m., and dinner will be served at 6:00 p.m. The cost is $40 per person and we encourage you to invite and bring non-MSBA members and non-attorneys.

The Eleventh District Bar Association and the Iron Range Bar welcome you to the annual Duluth/Iron Range Bar Picnic, to be held Friday, August 25, 2023 at Eshquaguma Country Club in Gilbert, Minnesota.
This year we are happy to celebrate 40 years of the Court of Appeals. (It is fitting that we are on the Iron Range this year considering the role in the establishment of the Court of Appeals by Governor Perpich and Chief Judge Popovich.)
The Court was established during the Disco Era … which will be our theme for the day.
GOLF
This year we will have two shot gun starts. The morning session will begin at 10:00 a.m. The afternoon session will begin at 2:00 p.m. Please assemble your foursome and call Peanut at 218-391-1657. The Duluth/Iron Range Challenge will be the full 18-hole event, but there will be separate prizes for the morning and afternoon sessions as well.
LUNCH
We will gather in the Clubhouse between the morning and afternoon rounds to enjoy lunch.
SOCIAL HOUR, BOCCE
PUTTING and ONE CLUB TOURNAMENTS
The Social Hour with Disco signature drinks will begin at 4:00 p.m. at the Clubhouse following the afternoon round of golf.
The Bocce Tournament, Putting Contest and One Club Contest will take place adjacent to the Clubhouse also at 4:00 p.m.
DINNER AND PROGRAM
The festivities will conclude with Dinner in the Clubhouse, followed by Awards to the contest winners and the usual door prizes from Security Jewelers.

Following brief announcements, Sixth Judicial District Treatment Court Coordinators Rachael Barta and Lindsay Snustad will present an overview of our Sixth Judicial District Treatment Courts and then focus on our South St. Louis County DWI Court. Treatment Courts represent a shift in the way courts are handling certain offenders and working with key stakeholders in the justice system. In this approach, the court works closely with prosecutors, public defenders, probation officers, social workers, and other justice system partners to develop a strategy that will pressure an offender into completing a treatment program and abstaining from repeating the behaviors that brought them to court. 1 standard CLE credit is pending. CLE event code is 482838.

Following brief announcements, Judge Harris will give a presentation on the South St. Louis County Veterans Treatment Court. He will discuss the local veteran population and its needs, provide an introduction into military culture and thinking, and discuss how veterans treatment courts can provide an effective intervention for reducing recidivism and improving public safety. 1 standard CLE credit is pending. Please join us for a free CLE presentation on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at noon. This CLE presentation will be held via Zoom.

Lawyers Concerned for Lawyers will present a 1-hour free CLE entitled "Stress, Addiction, and Mental Health: An Ethical Perspective."

For lawyers, missing deadlines and failing to communicate or complete projects may be the tip of the iceberg when it comes to excessive stress and addiction, and mental health issues. Those same issues and others may be present in clients. When a client is impaired, the lawyer has both obligations and opportunities. There are obligations when the lawyer is impaired, but fortunately, there is also help available. This program looks at professional responsibility aspects of impairment from both the client and lawyer perspective.
