📝✊ Educational forum: the U.S. War Machine and How to Defeat it

The United States has been involved in war for over 230 out of the 250 years of its existence. We can’t understand the history of war in the United States without understanding how war benefits the capitalist system. Donald Trump entered his second term promising to be a president of peace. Instead, he has started a war with Iran, kidnapped the president of Venezuela, and is causing a fuel crisis and mass starvation in Cuba.

The United States government spends billionaires of dollars every day on war all while gutting food stamps, Medicaid, and public schools. What matters most to the billionaires that run our government is world dominance and lining their pockets. But it doesn’t need to be this way. We can build a better system, one that puts the needs of people first instead of endless war!

EDUCATORS SAY - ICE OUT, GET ORGANIZED!

Yesterday, educators across the Twin Cities metro came together to discuss the developments of the fight back against ICE, how we build a fighting spirit in our unions, and how we strengthen our unions to be able to fight on all fronts. As we head into the 15th day of the war on Iran, many educators are asking why we have so much money for bombs and ICE terror, yet Minneapolis Public Schools faces a significant funding crisis. The money is there - the question is how we use it!

If educators and other workers ran society, we would put what matters first - making sure that all children are safe, housed, and have access to quality education. We would make sure that our educators were properly staffed and resourced, instead of always asked to do more with less.

Money for jobs and education, not for war and deportation!

EVICTION IS A WAR ON THE WORKING CLASS!

Yesterday, Jacob Frey continued to show his loyalty to the developers and landlords and vetoed a life-saving eviction moratorium that would allow working-class families to get back on their feet after the devastation of Operation Metro Surge. There is never enough money to keep working families housed, but there is always enough money for war - like the billions of dollars that have already been spent on Trump’s illegal and unprovoked war on Iran. In a system run by the billionaire class, the only thing that matters is making the rich and powerful even richer. We need to demand an end to the war on Iran - the money for bombs, missiles and warships should be spent to serve our own families back home!

There is one more chance to vote on the ordinance on March 26. If you live in Ward 3, 4, 5, 7, 11, or 13, contact your city council member and tell them that you stand with working families!

Attend the rally TODAY to demand a veto override!

FUND EDUCATION, NOT WAR!

Minneapolis Public Schools are facing severe cuts to ESL, Adult Education, and more critical support positions. While our schools face budget cuts year after year, there is always money for war. We need a whole new system that puts the people’s needs first, not endless war!

We are holding organizing meetings and community forums every weekend in March to get organized and defeat the war machine! Join us!

Over the weekend, Minnesotans in Minneapolis and Duluth joined people in 80+ cities across the country to mobilize against the Trump administration’s illegal and inhumane war on Iran. People everywhere understand that their tax dollars should not be spent killing and displacing people across the globe while our own needs go unmet. This war affects all of us, and we are uniting to say NO to endless war!

Join us on Saturday, 3/21 to talk about the revolutionary history of women’s liberation, and why opposing war is a women’s issue. We will fight back!

‼️ STUDY WOMEN’S LIBERATION WITH US ‼️

This Women’s History Month discuss with us how women around the world have struggled for liberation through resistance and collective action. There is no women’s liberation without an end to war and a socialist system! Our feminism must be anti-imperialist!

“How dare they say that the wealth we produce as workers should be used to slaughter children when children in this country go hungry!”

In the early days of the war on Iran, the Twin Cities mobilized to demand an immediate end to the war. This war is broadly unpopular - billions are wasted on missiles and bombs that have killed over a thousand Iranian civilians. Minnesota native, Nicole Amor Those billions could be spent on education, housing and healthcare for the American people instead of endless bloodshed. The billionaire class wants us to die for their wars, and they will pass the price of war back onto us in higher gas prices, loss of life, and budget cuts to services that actually meet our needs.

Money for jobs, not for war! Money for education, not for war! NO WAR ON IRAN!

“We must have the courage to protect our children, and they are all our children”

People of conscience mobilized in Duluth to oppose Trump’s illegal and immoral war on Iran. This International Women’s Day, we reaffirm that peace and justice is a women’s issue. The children who are killed in Iran are just as precious as the children here.

If Congress won’t stop him, the people will!!

03/07/2026

Today in Duluth we are taking a stand together alongside people across the country and across the world in protesting this war and Trump’s attacks on Iran.

03/06/2026

One day before cities across Minnesota hit the streets to oppose the start of another catastrophic war! Over 1000 people have already been killed in this new war.

The Trump administration has spent over $1 billion to sow death and destruction while gutting SNAP, Medicaid, and public school funding. In the early stages of this war, mass demonstration has the potential to change the tide of Trump’s aggression. No blood for oil!

SEE YOU IN THE STREETS!
