Libertarian Rebecca Whiting to Appear in US Senate Debate

Bemidji, MN (July 27, 2024) – On Friday, August 2, 2024, at 2 pm at the Minnesota Capitol rotunda, Rebecca Whiting will join Chris Seymore and Patrick Munro in a debate for the U.S. Senate seat currently occupied by Amy Klobuchar. Whiting is endorsed by the Libertarian Party of Minnesota and will appear on the general election ballot on November 5th; Seymour and Munro will be on the GOP primary ballot on August 13th.

“This debate will provide an opportunity for me to share libertarian principles, which get too little attention by the mainstream media,” said Whiting. Regarding her GOP opponents, Whiting added, “Anyone who stands against a warhawk, establishment puppet like Amy Klobuchar is an ally in the multi-generational fight for freedom, no matter where they stand in the political sphere. I also look forward to highlighting my unique perspectives on war policy and other matters.”

A mother of twelve, Whiting is passionate about the legacy the current generation will leave for the future. “We have lost a lot of ground to corporate greed and corrupted politicians," said Whiting. “Progress is only made through revitalizing the freedoms and taking the chains off of our children’s future.”

Whiting, a combat medic in Iraq and passionate peace activist, brings a bold pro-peace message to the debate stage. Positioning herself as the true “America First” candidate, Whiting asserts, “At a time when 76% of tax revenues are going to debt servicing, many so-called America First candidates support sending US taxpayer dollars overseas. They are not only wrong, they're hypocrites.” Whiting will oppose any non-defensive war, especially the bipartisan proxy wars currently being waged in Ukraine and Palestine.

An entrepreneur, farmer, board member of the Bemidji Natural Choice Farmers Market, and chair of the Libertarian Party of Minnesota, Rebecca Whiting, brings a refreshing alternative to Minnesota politics. She looks forward to a spirited and cordial debate.

I'm just saying... I envisioned this all a little differently.

If what we have today is as good as it's ever going to get, then of course the results will be maybe not very good.

Can't ask the people that caused the problem to also provide a solution for the answer. Don't fall for it, friends. They have no incentive to look out for your best interest.

This was my speech I gave during the Defend the Guard Rally this spring.

I'm running for US Senate to bring an end to a normalization of forever wars and their consistent propagation in Congress. And I'm bringing home the message as an Army veteran who served two tours to Iraq as a combat medic in both Ramadi in 2004-05, and then again in Baghdad from 2006-07 with the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division.

This is not the type of future you want for your children when they serve in the military. And for that reason, I must speak out. I've lost too many people to these wars already. People who had value and should have had a future. But were sacrificed for corporate greed instead.

Until my last breath, I will fight back against those who would wage war and not peace and will not stop until every war monger in Congress has left in shame for their crimes against humanity.
