Promise of Hope, Inc.

Promise of Hope, Inc. A residential program for those with a drug/alcohol problem. We have men's and women's facilities. We provide residential care for ages 18 and over.

Our women's program is located in Dudley, GA and our men's program in Cochran, GA. We are a 12 month phase program, consisting of three phases. Additionally, we are a work program, which enables the residents to become responsible for themselves, and accept financial responsibility for time in the program. They have a safe environment to experience the realities of life, where they learn to proces

s their daily struggles and prepare to return to society. Promise of Hope provides tools that help strengthen the resident's ability to build a personal relationship with Christ, handle cravings, and address personality conflicts in the personal relationships, work place, and in society at large. These tools include promises from God's Word, prayer, 12-step program guidance, and living and communication skills. Our Family Meetings are a very successful component of our program. Education is important in learning how to stop enabling the bad behavior. Most family members don't realize their actions are helping the self destructive lifestyle to continue. Statistics show when the family members get better, the addict or alcoholic gets better sooner. Attending Family Meetings helps understanding of the process of recovery to occur.

CONGRATULATIONS to Ryan and David!!! They completed our men's program last night! Join us in praying for their bright futures!

Take a look at their "Goodbye Letters" to their addictions:

Dear Addiction,
Today I come before you a new man. A man that knows that you have no power over me. I will fight you with God at my side always. I will never go into another day without God at my side. I had been lured away from God by you. That will not happen again. This moment and this time is the time that I needed to recenter on the Lord and regain my strength through him. That he has it. He has you.
All of these things God worked for his glory. Satan has lost his grip. His time is over. I will never turn to these ways again. And in any and every moment that you rear your ugly head, I will again beat you down with Jesus. Just as Jesus drove out the merchants and panhandlers in the temple, I will with his help drive you out of my heart and mind. You have gained nothing here. I have gained everything. I am closer to God than I have ever been. So, thank you. You drove me back into the loving arms of my Lord and savior, Jesus Christ.
You will never find me alone again. I am here standing with the Lion of Judah. I will not fear or be convinced of your lies again. From this moment forth, I will be with the Lord and you will be devoured every time you cast your evil gaze upon me. There will never be a time where you reign in my heart again. You lose. God wins. End of story.
-Ryan

Dear Addiction,
I am thankful and grateful for the pain and lessons in life I went through because of you. I wouldn't be able to be where I am today and the person that I am today. But, I will no longer serve you and make you my idol. I will no longer let you take the things out of my life that I love and enjoy. I will no longer let you do anything in my life. I will no longer be a slave to you. This is my goodbye.
-David

Please help us congratulate Sam today as she celebrates a huge milestone! Here is her recovery story!

Hey! I’m Sam, and I’m an addict.

Six years ago, I had no idea how to live without the use of drugs. Drugs were my motivation to do anything and everything. I was hollow inside, lost, and searching for a reason to keep pushing forward. I was completely incapable of being honest with myself or anyone else. My life was consumed by the obsession of finding ways and means to get MORE.

I couldn’t handle the shame and guilt of who I had become. But the Lord, with the help of the legal system, led me to Dublin, Georgia, and ultimately to Promise of Hope.

At Promise of Hope, I learned how to be honest, how to connect with other women in recovery, and how to build my relationship with God. I developed self-respect and learned responsibility. I began to see that there was a life worth living beyond addiction.

Through the grace and mercy of God and the love I found in the rooms of Narcotics Anonymous, I now have a family of my own—three beautiful children and a loving husband. My relationships with my family have been restored, and, most importantly, so has the trust they have in me.

Is life on life’s terms overwhelming sometimes? Absolutely! But today, I don’t have to use over it. I have an arsenal of tools that I can use to get through the storms of life, and I serve a gracious God who will see me through every one of them.

Six years ago, I was lost and couldn’t imagine a life without drugs. Today, I am living a life I never thought was possible.

I am forever grateful for Promise of Hope, Narcotics Anonymous, my family, and most of all, the grace and mercy of God that continues to carry me one day at a time.
