The Honor Flight of Dubuque returns on May 11th and 12th, bringing home veterans who have spent the day in Washington, D.C., visiting the memorials built in their honor.
For many of them… this is the welcome home they never received.
No politics.
No noise.
Just gratitude.
Just people lining the halls, clapping, cheering, holding signs, and saying the words that should have been said a long time ago:
Welcome Home.
Where: Grand River Center
When:
• Monday, May 11, 2026 – 9:30 PM
• Tuesday, May 12, 2026 – 9:30 PM
Important:
Do NOT go to the airport. Veterans will be transported to the Grand River Center for the ceremony.
Expect:
• Cheering crowds
• Patriotic music & bagpipes
• Flags, signs, and red-white-and-blue everywhere
• And more than a few tears
This is where the community shows up.
If you’ve ever wanted to say thank you… this is your moment.
Bring a flag.
Bring your kids.
Bring your voice.
Let’s give them the welcome they earned.
Supported by:
Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), Veterans Freedom Center, VFW Post 508 Dubuque, American Legion Post 6 Dubuque, and other area groups.
