Water pressuer should be restored to most of Dublin by the end of the day today. The 16" main line along Joiner Street cracked and began leaking last night. Unfortunately, because of the magnitude and location of the leak, in the early morning hours, the water department had to turn off water production to allow the crews to safely replace the cracked pipe. Because pressure dropped throughout the system, Dublin has to stay under a boil water advisory until we get clean testing results back. You can still take showers, use restroom, etc. but no drinking water until the system is all clear. I want to send a special thanks to the water construction crew and the water plant employees who tirelessly worked through the night in difficult circumstances, and also to the police, fire, gas, and street deparments and city manager Josh Powell for staying up all night working to get water restored as fast as possible. We are fortunate as a community to have such a hard-working and competent team. For official updates on the boil water advisory please follow the The City of Dublin page or website.
