Grateful to my fellow delegates for the nomination and for being named AD 48’s Democrat of the Year!

Each year, the Los Angeles County Democratic Party recognizes honorees representing its 24 Assembly Districts and 88 cities across the county. I’m honored to receive this recognition alongside Alexa Sanchez, who does incredible work throughout the Fighting 48th!

Gracias to my family for joining me last night. I can’t imagine being able to do what I love without the support of mi familia!

I’m also incredibly grateful to Assemblymember Blanca Rubio, Robert Becerra, and Veronica Lopez for their continued support, encouragement, and leadership. Thank you for believing in the work we continue to do for our community.

Earlier this week, I had the opportunity to join the Kiwanis Clubs of Division 35 for the installation of this year’s Lieutenant Governor! 🎉

It was wonderful meeting fellow Kiwanis members and club presidents from neighboring communities, including Temple City, Monrovia, La Puente, West Covina, Rowland Heights, and Glendora. It’s always inspiring to connect with people who share a passion for serving their communities and making a difference in the lives of children. 💙

I’m especially grateful that Division 35 chose to host this special evening right here in Duarte! Congratulations to Deb Barba on becoming our 2026–2027 Lieutenant Governor! 🎉 And a BIG thank you to Rose Wentz for your service during the 2025–2026 year. You certainly made it a fun one! 😅👏

What an incredible evening! I’m honored to have been given the opportunity to serve as the Duarte Kiwanis Club President for the 2026–2027 year.

I was a Key Club member during high school, received a scholarship from Kiwanis, and was also a DART member, so this is extra special to me. Thank you to my family, friends, and community partners for being present as we welcomed the new Kiwanis year. I want to thank our sponsors, iNSPIRE, Burrtec, D’Aquino W**e, and the City of Duarte, for their support.

To our new members, welcome! I look forward to serving alongside you. And to our board, THANK YOU! I’m grateful to have you all on this journey with me.

Last night’s message was a reminder to be intentional with our words and ensure our words match our actions. To show up, be present, pave the way for the generations coming behind us, and thank those who came before us.

I don’t take this responsibility lightly. Let’s continue working hard and serving the world, one community and one child at a time! 💙

Before the night ends, I want to wish Duarte Planning Commission Chair Luz Yesenia Páez a very happy birthday! 🎉🎂

I have seen firsthand how Yesenia shows up for others. She wears her heart on her sleeve, and her love for this city and our community is undeniable.

We need selfless leaders who show up even when it’s hard. Yesenia is a leader who listens, works well with others, and when she disagrees, she does so with grace and respect while making sure her voice is heard.

She is more than qualified and experienced to represent District 1 and our city as a whole. I am proud of her for pursuing her dreams and continuing to serve this community. As a Planning Commissioner, she has already helped bring positive change, and I have no doubt she will continue that work if (when) elected to City Council.

Feliz cumpleaños, Yesenia! 🎉 Keep knocking, keep showing up, and keep fighting for the community you love. Wishing you many more years of happiness and success!

On September 26, the City held a Street Fest after the Route 66 Parade. We had an incredible car show, live music from Sangria, food trucks, b**r garden, Duarte Dance, and many of our community partners hosted booths and giveaways. Despite the weather being over 100, we had a great time.

Thank you, City staff, volunteers, and sponsors. Our CERT team was really busy that afternoon. Shoutout to Fire Station 44 as well! 🚒

Can’t wait until the City’s 70th anniversary next year! 🥳
