We are holding a public vote tomorrow, Tuesday, June 16 to vote on the purchase of a replacement fire engine. Taxpayers in Duanesburg Fire District 2 may vote.

Our current engine is 26 years old and failed while fighting a structure fire, and requires tens of thousands in repairs to be operational again. With the public in mind, our commissioners and fire dept officers feel this truck is the best long-term solution for the dept and community.

Voting will be held downstairs at the Duanesburg Fire Comany at 7073 Duanesburg Rd from 6:00PM to 9:00PM.

The recent warm weather (warm road surface) paired with freezing rain and snow led to some of the worst road conditions of the year yesterday.

We received 6 calls between 1:59 and 2:50PM.

1 - single car auto accident, RT 20 by the Princetown line
2 - car off the road at i88 and rt 20
3 - car into a telephone pole on rt 20 near Outlander
4 - rollover on the i88 westbound on ramp
5 - tour bus va car i88 eastbound near the princetown line - mutual aid with Pine Grove
6 - medical call - mutual aid with Delanson Fire

There were multiple other cars off the road.

Most of the cars had AWD.

The elevation changes coming into Duanesburg can quickly change road conditions.

Stay safe, be alert and please remember to slow down and move over when you see us on the side of the road.

Did you know Duanesburg will have a town ice skating rink located at the little league this winter? Yesterday marked the initial setup and the first 6,000 gallons of water.
