On this 25th anniversary of the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, we pause to remember all of the innocent lives that were lost. We honor the heroes that rushed toward the danger, including civilians, firefighters, EMTs, medics, police officers and members of the military.

We also remember the thousands of people that have perished from 9/11 related illnesses and those that continue to suffer from those illnesses today. We especially honor Friendship member Chris Downer. Chris spent time working as a contractor at Ground Zero in New York City during the clean up process. He subsequently was diagnosed with cancer and passed away in 2019 at the age of 53.

An entire generation has now grown up not having yet been born at the time of the 9/11 attacks. It's important that we continue to share the stories, memories and the history of that time so the legacies of those that we lost will never be forgotten.

Students head back to area schools tomorrow to start the 2026-2027 academic year. Please use extra caution during morning and evening commutes. Help keep our kids safe by observing all traffic laws related to school buses, and keep an eye out for walkers and bike riders. Let's work together to make sure students, teachers and staff have a safe and successful school year! 🍎📚

We are Hiring FULL TIME 911 Dispatchers‼️
911 Staff works a fixed Day or Night Rotation, 12 hour days, with every other weekend off. Benefits include County healthcare, County Pension, and Paid Days off! Starting rate $19.50/hr with a $1/hr raise after one year of service.
All training is provided in house, along with on-the-job training.

Requirements:
-High School Diploma
-Reliable Transportation
-Clean Criminal History
-40+ hours/week
-Ability to Multi-task
-Strong Communication Skills
-Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
-Available to work every other weekend, day shift, night shift, and holidays as assigned by the dispatch supervisor.
-Ability to work in harmony with co-workers
